Genuine Secrets,
Exhibition, VIP salons of the Barnes agency Avenue George V, Paris
Between truth and secrecy, Emilie Marie weaves a dialogue of magnetic nuances.
Drawing her language from aquatic, mineral, cosmic, or cellular forms, her works connect through a sensitive thread. Like in enchanted worlds, the contrasts of materials and the variations in textures question our relationship to time and space, to authenticity and to mystery.
The works of “Genuine Secrets” are imbued with charm ; they invoke that kind of magic that arises when beings embody truth, the kind that is revealed in intimacy, trust, and away from prying eyes, where a form of primal state is rediscovered.
The artist’s gestures are always pure, as they are directly connected to her deep emotions and physical memory.
On raw canvas laid on the floor, she expands through dance-like, curved, instinctive movements.
Between ethereal caresses and volcanic intensity, her brushstrokes, charged with both fervor and tenderness, pour out inks, acrylics, and iridescent pigments, giving flesh to radiant, fleeting moments.
In front of paper, the experience becomes more spontaneous, more intimate.
Magic emerges from a subtle balance between alchemy and the courage to love, when sincere and vulnerable bonds are silently woven. That is why, in a metaphorical and surreal language, Emilie Marie’s paintings are built up in layers, tissues of opaque, impenetrable secrets entwined with fluid veils that carry light and truth.
Exchanges and gazes take the form of rays that pierce or illuminate; words, for their part, are expressed in unique symbols. What is magical is also what touches us in inexplicable ways, awakening our natural senses or reviving our memories.
Mystery is not something to be cultivated—it is something to be tamed.
But how many secrets lead us to the truth?
